Bread and butter pickles

 Cucumbers                                        5

Salt                                                     1 cup

White wine vinegar                        1 pint

Sugar                                                  1 cup

Water                                                 1 quart

Black pepper                                     1 T

bay leaf                                             1 ea

mustard seed                                   1 T

coriander                                          1 T

clove                                                  3 ea

cinnamon                                          1 stick

 

Method

Slice cumbersome and toss in salt.

Let sit for 1 hour

Mean while bring vinegar, water, sugar, and spices to a boil. Let steep for 20 minutes and strain.

Rinse thoroughly twice.

Pour vinegar mixture over cucumbers and let for a minimum of 24 hours and up to 2 months.
